eBook Library: Region wechseln
HI!
wenn ich in der Desktop-SW die REgion ändere - hat das noch andere Auswirkungen ausser, dass ich bei wechsel nach USA den sony-store sehen / verwenden kann? Das würde ich nämlich verdammt gerne, ohne mir damit irgendwas beim Reader zu verbauen. Nicht, dass das so läuft wie mit dem Region-Code bei DVDs =:0 Lady 3Jane |

Solche Einschränkungen sind mir nicht bekannt. Ich verwende hier einen PRS-505 den ich im Frühjahr aus den USA mitgebracht habe (also mit US-Firmware), ohne Probleme. Region-Codes gibt es offenbar nicht.

Ich habe einen neuen PS-600 aus den USA mitgebracht. Obwohl alles auf USA steht, habe ich in der Bibliothek jetzt Deutschland.
Ebenso plötzlich bei meinem alten PRS-505 nach dem letzten Update. Schon bei der Installation gab es das Problem. Die Software stammt von der Sony USA Seite. Dann haben wir die Ländereinstellungen auf USA geändert. Danach konnten wir die Software zwar auf englisch installieren, aber keine Verbindung zum Reader Store USA. Bis vor 1-2 Monaten klappte das alles noch. Habt ihr das auch feststellen können? Und was kann ich dagegen machen.Ich habe auch eine USA Adresse über meinen Sohn und möchte eigentlich keine Bücher bei Thalia und Co kaufen. Hat jemand einen Tipp? Vauh |

Ich habe jetzt eine ziemlich intensive Korrespondenz mit Sony USA gehabt.
Seit dem Software-Update 1.1.2010 funktionieren die Käufe im Sony Store USA nicht mehr. Die lassen sich auf nichts ein. Wie man dann an seine gekauften Bücher kommt, hat mir keiner beantwortet. Mal sehen, ich werde wohl andere Schritte unternehmen. Meine Schwiegertochter ist Anwalt in den USA. Vauh |

aufgrund der Geo-Restrictions seitens der Rechteinhaber hat Sony da keine andere Wahl. Ich wage zu bezweifeln, dass dir eine Anwältin da großartig helfen kann. Sony darf Dir die eBooks nicht verkaufen, wenn Du dich nicht in den USA befindest, weil Sony nur Vertriebsrechte für die USA von den Rechteinhabern erhält. Einzigste Möglichkeit wäre die Nutzung eines Proxies bzw. einer VPN-Verbindung, die Deine Herkunfts-IP als US-IP-Adresse ausweist. Dann dürfte der Sony-Store nicht merken was Sache ist. Allerdings verstößt Du dann wissentlich gegen die Nutzungsbedingungen des Sony Store. Mit "Software-Update 1.1.2010" meinst Du doch das Update im Sony Store, oder? |

DAs klingt merkwürdig. Ich habe am 10.1.2010 im readerstore usa noch 'Middlesex' gekauft. Aus D-Land. Mit einer deutschen IP Adresse. Version der Software: 3.1.00.12040 (Ende 2009).
Alles was ich getan habe war, in der SW die REgion auf USA zu stellen und bei den billing-infromations im readerstore eine gültige USA-Zip anzugeben. Entweder die haben die SW dahingehend geändert oder was anderes ist 'falsch' 3Jane |

Na ist nicht so wichtig, bin sowieso regelmäßig in den USA, wenn ich dann ein Buch bauche wird es wohl klappen.Das Problem ist im Moment, dass ich einige Bücher gekauft hatte und nicht auf diese zugreifen kann.
