Calibre 0.6.4 Linux Install Issue
I had managed to install the latest version to /opt/calibre6 (so as to not over write the old 0.5.x install) and now that I'm trying to install into the default /opt/calibre folder I get the following error;
Extracting files to /opt/calibre ... Extracting application files... Creating symlinks... Traceback (most recent call last): File "/tmp/init.py", line 45, in <module> File "/home/kovid/work/calibre/src/calibre/linux.py", line 349, in binary_install OSError: [Errno 17] File exists Any way I can find out which file exists so I can delete it before proceeding? Thanks! |

Sorry, should have mentioned... I had deleted the entire /opt folder structure before starting.
Any way that I can run the script with some sort of debugging enabled? |

Run it again for 0.6.5 and it should tell you what file is causing the problem

Ahhh, thanks.
Looks like it's running into an issue creating the symlinks to the files in /usr/bin. Extracting files to /opt/calibre ... Extracting application files... Creating symlinks... Symlinking /opt/calibre/fetch-ebook-metadata to /usr/bin/fetch-ebook-metadata Traceback (most recent call last): File "/tmp/init.py", line 45, in <module> File "/home/kovid/work/calibre/src/calibre/linux.py", line 351, in binary_install OSError: [Errno 17] File exists I have manually deleted all the affected links and that seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks so much! |
