Your Sinful Pleasure: How many ebooks are you reading at the same time?
I currently have 14 - and I HATE DOING THIS!
But I am weak....so weak. I usually only have about 6-8 ebooks going at the same time.... |

Short attention span?
Sorry but I typically only have one book open at a time. I don't see unfinished books as open but as abandoned. Any book that can't hold my attention for a straight-through pass isn't worth my time. |

One.
I may start reading several ebooks at the same time, but I very shortly decide which one I'm going to focus on. Usually within a few chapters, or so. The ones I decide against get started over from the beginning if I decide to revisit them. |

One. However I usually have 3-4 non-fiction paper books on the go at the same time, mainly cookbooks. And maybe an audiobook.

I counted 8. 2 are novellas and 2 are collections rather than novels. I've got an audiobook I'm listening to also that's not part of that count.

I've usually got one ebook and one paper book going at the same time. Sometimes 2 ebooks on 2 different readers.

Not unfinished..then I would agree with you that they are abandoned. I'm reading one here and then the next day another one, interspersed with some short stories from 2 or 3 other titles. |

Two in different genres, I'll alternate between them, depending on my mood.

Oho! The phraseology saves me. I've technically only got three ebooks going, which is well within my ideal parameter (if I don't count the ebook that backs up my audiobook for times I zone out). But add in audio and paperbooks and it's six, and it's only six as I've just finished up my lighter listen and haven't cracked a new one yet.
When things are chugging along as I'd like, I'm in the four-to-five range in toto. One audiobook plus three ebooks in my Goldilocks methodology: one hard, one medium, one easy. My MO is to read the most difficult book I can focus on at that particular time. Hard may be too hard, on a weekday evening when I'm tired. The fifth book is a swing title, perhaps a second audiobook to break up a long one, or an additional book in one of my categories because one is a paperbook. But once I go over five (and four is better), I start to lose the various strings as I'm not getting to each often enough to keep it current. I feel as if I'm floundering. I really need to clear the decks right now, but it'll take a bit. |

Only ever one at a time.
Not that I can imagine wanting to read more, but I'd just forget what was happening and who people where if I tried reading more than two fiction books at the same time, and then get the two story-lines mixed up! |

For ebooks, only one. For audiobooks, usually one; but sometimes two or three.
