$50 E-Book Reader
Well sorta.
Halted.com is selling Pencentra 130 Tablets (Windows CE 2.11 Devices) for $50. Add mobipocket and you've got a $50 E-Book Reader. Trying it out now, the MobiPocket Reader software installed, but I've got to find a way to map some keyboard keys to the side panel (No buttons for next / previous page as it's made for Pen Inptut) |

Since it sounds like the battery is likely to be bad in these, how hard is it to replace the battery on those things?

Going to do some Time Test on the batteries this weekend, but It will take a charge, & hold it, I just might need to recondition them. But also given that I was looking for something by the nightstand at Night, the Power cord might not be an issue. While I like my Sony PRS-505, Night reading without disturbing the wife just doesn't work with that as I've not found a good light for it yet. (And this was actually cheaper than some of the lights for the 505 I've seen ) Last edited by PGP_Protector; 07-28-2009 at 06:47 PM. |

Small time test, after about 1/2 Hour Full Brightness on the Screen I'm at 60%.
So I should be able to get a bit over an Hour Reading on a full charge. |

I have one. I didn't find it a very good ebook reader. My experiences:

I'll agree it's not a great reader, but it does beat my PDA that I've been using for Night reading.
While I Love the E-Ink tech for day reading, without a light source for night, my 505 doesn't work. So the $50 for this isn't that bad. |
