Abiword with Registry Installer - Page 3

I have problem with Abiword looks like above. I unzip install file to CF card to folder /software/abiword-install and edit Firmware_Script to 2.12.1. Abiword install successfully but still said “Shut down and Start your iLiad for the changes to take effect” and of course .doc files still showed Xs.
I try to install it again but without results.
What should I do ? I need to view .doc files.

Without having that firmware to test with, I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm afraid you're stuck until someone else with that firmware can troubleshoot, or until iRex upgrades the firmware so that both iLiad versions have the same.

I was lucky deleting all abiword files on Card, also all files on _root. Then reinstall.
That functionned, but without that I did something with it, now again the word docs are all with X Symbols...

The software version on iLiad is already 2.12.

today some new software from irex was installed.
i re-runned run.sh and abiword works.

When I use the menu, for example want to change Preferences, then
Abiword exits.

Adam, if you go to Edit -> Options, Abiword crashes.
Is it that you didn't implement the options, or something ?
Great program, BTW, installed it the day I received my iLiad and could read and edit .doc files without problems.
You say in your first post that it's a beta. Do you plan to release a new version soon ?

I was never able to fix the preferences issue, which is why I referred to it as a beta.

I haven't done any work to it since my original port. I don't have nearly as much free time as I used to, so I don't expect to update it in the future.

Does it say that Abiword installed correctly? Did you try to download it again?

The first question should be: Did you re-request the Developer Package after updating to 2.12?

Yes I did request again, but I had a big problem of ILIAD keeping restarting. SO I flashed everything, updated to firmware 2.12, and then requested the developer package. Now when I copied Abiword on CF, Abiword just shows as an entry, not as an installer, and when selected it does not install (no entry in programs). Please help.

I installed Abiword fine on 2.12.

Are you sure it is the install package you put there and not a copy of the installed bits?
