Error Message loading NOOK HD+
Use calibre and Windows 7. Recently got a Nook HD+ as an early Xmas gift and was loading books onto it from existing Calibre selections. Things were going smoothly then I started getting an error message.
Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 85, in run File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 500, in _sync_booklists File "site-packages\calibre\devices\mtp\driver.py", line 270, in sync_booklists File "site-packages\calibre\devices\mtp\driver.py", line 257, in write_metadata_cache File "site-packages\calibre\ebooks\metadata\book\json_codec.p y", line 122, in encode_to_file File "tempfile.py", line 603, in write File "tempfile.py", line 511, in _check File "tempfile.py", line 519, in rollover MemoryError I have the 32gig Nook and also use a 32gig Scandisk micro SD card in the memory slot. Only seems to affect the books I have recently added to Calibre. Can anyone advise on how to correct this or even what it means? Tired several easy/quick fixes but am not as computer literate as others and thought maybe someone else would have an idea. Thanks for any help Pookie |

That indicates your computer is running out of memory processing the cache of files on the device. How many files are you sending to the device? How much RM do you have?

I am loading a new device with the files I currently have and trying to send batches of 25-50 or so, sometimes more. Several of the medical texts are fairly large. Should smaller batches be sent at a time and what is RM?

Sorry I meant RAM. The batch size is not important its the total number of books and the size of their metadata. Do you have books with very long comments fields?

My computer is 12GB DDR3 SDRAM with an intel core i7-2600 processor (8mb cache). We are talking about several thousand books, a few of which are fairly large files like I said......they are medical texts like Greys Anatomy, etc.
Do you have books with very long comments fields? <------ What does this mean? I am still learning alot about the Calibre so bear with me. |

Most of them average about 10-15 lines. There are a few that are kinda wordy but I dont think any are 50 lines or longer. And they do show a cover picture. Is there a way to shorten them? And thank you for the help so far.......

While chasing a wily pickpocket who stole the money she desperately needs to escape an arranged marriage, Lady Jacinda Knight stumbles into a gang war in a dangerous part of London. She is rescued by Billy Blade, the infamous "King of Thieves," who takes her back to his lair until he discovers her real identity and immediately takes her home, leaving her with only memories of their forbidden passion. When Billy is later forced to abandon his adopted identity and resume his rightful place as William Spencer Albright, the Earl of Rackford, the entire town wonders where he has been hiding since he disappeared as a young boy, everyone, that is, except Jacinda, who immediately recognizes the wicked rogue lurking beneath his civilized veneer. Foley neatly contrasts the dark, perilous corners of London with the dazzling world of the city's wealthy as she continues her Knights Miscellany series in another delectably entertaining, lusciously sensual historical Regency, proving herself once again to be an irresistible author skilled at blending passion and intrigue. Now with Lady of Desire, a sizzling tale in which a fiery young temptress tames the king of thieves, she delivers her most enthralling–and smoldering–novel yet. . . . Impetuous Lady Jacinda Knight is the daughter of a scandalous woman. Though society predicts she’ll follow in her mother’s footsteps, the spirited beauty stands unashamed of her passionate nature. Then one night, in flight from a safe but loveless marriage arranged by her strict older brother, Jacinda finds herself alone on a dark and dangerous street face-to-face with Billy Blade, the notorious leader of a band of thieves. His stolen kisses awaken in her a longing for a man she can never possess. A handsome scoundrel running from a secret past, Billy Blade has never met a woman like Jacinda–her fiery innocence and blossoming sensuality set his rebel’s heart ablaze. Having turned his back on the privilege and power of his tyrannical father’s house years before, he vows to return to his rightful place and reclaim his title, Earl of Rackford–to win the love of the ravishing beauty who has stolen his heart . . . From Publishers Weekly Fourth in Foley's Regency-era Knight family series (Lord of Ice, etc.), this tantalizing tale offers a glimpse of a world that historical romance authors rarely acknowledge-the slums and back alleys of London. Lady Jacinda Knight, a spoiled and sheltered beauty, defies her eldest brother and guardian by running away to avoid an arranged marriage. She makes it as far as a coaching inn before she falls prey to a young purse-snatcher. Not one to concede defeat, Jacinda chases him into an alley and winds up in the middle of a turf war between rival gangs of thieves. Hard-bitten Billy Blade, a troubled Robin Hood-like figure who's not quite what he seems, takes an ungrateful Jacinda back to her brothers but not before they share a heated kiss. The two eventually meet again when Billy is forced to reunite with his abusive father and reclaim his title as Earl of Rackford, but her desire for independence clashes with his resolve to make her his wife. It's hard to believe that the pampered aristocrat would find Billy worthy of her attentions, but his irreverent charm and innate sense of justice will quickly endear him to readers. Despite the book's title, Billy is the true star here, and his transformation from street-wise rebel into high society rake is full of light humor, lively surprises and tender moments. Copyright 2002 Reed Business Information, Inc. From Booklist Heres part of one that is a little wordy.......what do I need to do to get rid of all this garbage? Or at least slim alot of it down/cut it off at a reasonable level? |

If only she can keep her libido in check. After all, Agate has never been one to shy away from her sensual side and Alek makes her hotter than any sex toy she's ever dared to invent. It's too bad he won't be allowed to remember her come the morning… Ok heres an anthology synopsis......took me a minute to find one. |
