One more reason to have all your digital titles backed up. I think I would have just let them run off then buy another Kindle and redownload from Amazon and Calibre. |

The thieves are going to be mighty unhappy once they realize it's not an iPad.

The staggering thing is the risks he took to get it back.
It must have been a bloody good book he was reading! |

He will forget to steal, if he comes across some good books. Books have power to change person.

I wonder what was on his Kindle that was so important that he risked getting shot while chasing them and trying to get it back, especially after they already proved that they would shoot?

I wonder if it was the giggly guy? Perhaps his old reader broke down and he asserted his right to read.

The ability to read is hardly the only measure of intelligence. "That kind of people" were smart enough to know where to get a gun, that two is sometimes superior to one, and to not shoot the idiot who though his bit of plastic tech was more valuable than his life.

I would be extremely surprised that this thug did what he did so that he could enjoy his passion for literature ...
Surely his intent was to steal a tablet to sell it back and get some cash, but since he is obviously stupid he did not realize this was not an Ipad type of device and that he won't get much for it when selling it. Quote:

At least he kept all his fingers, unlike that poor guy who got his iPad snatched and lost his little finger in the process.
