From CNET: Nexus 10 incoming!
CNET is reporting that Google is rushing to get a large-format Nexus tablet out the door ASAP.
Fastest way? Co-brand the next Samsung 10-incher as a Nexus: http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-575...-with-samsung/ Quote:
I'd say 80%. |

As so many have pointed out already, Apple isn't entirely original, either.
Calling Samsung a clone of Apple seems far too obvious. This topic can be a lot more interesting than that. We think we know which features and design choices might be similar to the iPad (size and shape), but we don't have any idea what the differences will end up being and neither does anyone else. External DAC support is likely, which audiophiles who want to read music and listen to it simultaneously might enjoy. My main concern is the screen: The same company that has made such satisfying screens for iPads and iPhones often compromises with their own devices. I'd love to see that change. I hate 16:10 / 16:9 Tabs. Used once, never again.

Im surprised google and samsung have not cooperated sooner on a device, as they both stand to gain with samsung's vast manufacturing capability's and google's software wizardry who is the father of the Android OS. A perfect match as with Asus and googles current alliance has shown .Where apple tries to destroy any competition with flimsy patents, google is willing to cooperate A coalition seems to be forming which will make apples 1984 tv advert come true for themselves http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYecfV3ubP8 Last edited by darksaber35; 10-09-2012 at 12:18 PM. |

16:10 is normal for larger-resolution Android tablets (7-10"). You don't see many 1280x720 tabs, after all - most are 1280x800 (with the 1024x600 being oddballs stuck between 16:9 [578.53] and 16:10 [640], while the 800x ones are even weirder at 800x480 & 800x400).

I greatly prefer 16:9. It just makes sense since that's what almost all modern media conforms to, and tablets are at their best as media consumption devices.
In concept I actually prefer 4:3 for a variety of reasons and lamented the big change in my TVs and computers, but I'm also realistic and practical as to the advantages of adhering to modern standards. But to each their own, choices are a good thing. |

So we are getting three classes of mobile devices -- mobile phones, 7" tablets, and 10" tablets? I like the variety of choices available.
