And here we go again - Kobo's marketing people cannot get their act or their facts together. The Touch on the Kobo web site, says it offers 11 fonts, while the Mini and Glo say they have 7.
If Caecilia is not available on the Mini, they have just lost one order, as I view Caecilia as far and away the most readable on any e-ink screen. |

And once again Kobo marketing shows that they are apparently incompetent, since the Kobo site shows 11 fonts as available on the Touch, but only 7 on the Glo and Mini.
If Caecilia is not available on the Mini, they have lost my order for good, as I view it as far and away the most readable of any font on an e-ink screen. |

Caecilia was not pre-installed on any Kobo device. As far as i know, the Touch never came with 11 pre-installed fonts in Canada. Now, there may be font styles (for example, that come with devices activated in Japan) that count as part of the 11.
Adding the fonts of your choice is very easy. |

Is the Micro USB still in the same place as the Touch?
Thanks, Steve |

Thanks, Sameer.
"You can add your own fonts to the Kobo." But you don't get the font tuning features for side-loaded fonts. |

Will the Kobo Glo get a "whiter" screen like the Kindle Paperwhite or is it the same screen as the Kobo Touch ?

Exactly. Although, with a Kobo Glo (and Mini and Touch) you are able to make fonts darker through TypeGenius controls as well. |

One question is how well the Caecilia font in the update supports diacritical marks? The Adobe version that installed on my computer with one of the Creative Suites is pretty poor in it's support for them. Will the support be similar to the Gothic MB101 and Ryumin fonts which miss a couple of macron characters but otherwise are usable. Well, disregarding my dislike for Gothic MB101 as a sans serif font and Ryumin for the strange line weights, the descender on the upper-case J, etc., they are usable. |

All these e-ink displays (across all brands) are still just the horrible gray on gray. The resolution has improved, and the lighting has improved (which is great and really helps the readability), but at present we can only hope for a day when the displays actually become black and white.
