Not Available As An EBook
What is the best way to convert them? Scan them a page at a time and convert them with a text converter? Or type them in a page at a time? Or???

Scan them, OCR them, proofread them.

I can't believe how easy this is to scan a book. I just did Spend Game today because I had two copies. Took me a few hours, but no problems. It looks really good. I used Abby Fine Reader.

Scanning is easy. Removal of the scan errors and creating a good quality e-book out of it is another story. That will take more time.

Is there any software that helps with that? I noticed that there weren't many errors but the format on the page would change every once in a while for no apparent reason. Get narrower or back to normal. If the book hadn't been by an English author, spell checking would have taken about 30 seconds.

30 seconds? Really? Hahaha. That's cute, Jack. But seriously, there are many words that can bypass the spellchecker. See the link from my signature.

I can do a spell check in 30 seconds.... If the book is about half a page.

I typically proof-read about 20 pages an hour, so a 400-page book would take about 20 hours work to properly proof-read.
