The integrated help videos also seem to indicate you can attach web pages to documents directly from the menu. I tried to do this today with an epub open in the reader and the browser open on the tablet side and the option wasn't available. I'm running the 1.01 update, not the original from the company.

While you have your epub and webpage opened (and you have to run stock browser) hit paperclip in right upper corner of the browser, then on eink side select the word to be attached to. |

But as I mentioned a few posts above 1.02 doesn't gain anything compared to 1.01, it even may lose some performance as its VM cache is so low. But again the difference might be negligible. |

golden recovery is the idiotic way an idiot company decided to implement recovery. even the alex reader has standard recovery installed. I can not understand what they had in mind by crippling the recovery process. they created themselves issues with this.

Nevertheless, still I'm not clear what you mean under "crippled recovery". |

Brick-like Pocket Edge after Original Edge firmware
I was being very careful, documenting what version came on my new Pocket Edge, then updating to newest 1.6. Then updating to 2.2. Both updates I did from the torrent zip. Then I wanted the fixes -- I flashed some .zip from a link to a download site. My PE apparently tried to update from OE firmware and is now sick.
Symptoms: Boot loop or hang "enTourage Edge" flipped backwards on boot screen Stops on 3 dots lit, lit up from right to left e-ink side says "Initializing" most of time At a point the e-ink side flashes like it's being reset about 30 times. These symptoms seem the same whether I'm trying to Update with update.zip and home/rotate or if I just try to boot normally. I never see the update screen. I've tried to go back to 1.6 stock Dingo, go back to 2.2 Ermine, and tried Dingo with checks taken out for matched device name by way of DarkGrue's post https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=143035 but no dice. Looking for ideas. Or people with similar experience, did you get it working again? (after the batteries run out, I'm going to try 1.6 gold update... of course twice as in downgrade instructions) |

I tried to update with Javese's browser.apk, but was unable as the original browser.apk file is a read only system files. How did you manage to either rename or delete the original browser files? I have root explorer and can see the files, but I can't do anything to it...

I'm sure now this is what happened. The pocket edge splash screen says "Pocket Edge"... and now for a splash screen my PE with EE/OE firmware says "enTourage eDGe" mirrored backwards.
I've tried going to 1.01.002 PE firmware now with target forced like TARGET_DEVICE=UPDATE_DEVICE in the update.sh. Still hangs before it gets to Updating splash. |
