I greatly prefer 16:9. It just makes sense since that's what almost all modern media conforms to, and tablets are at their best as media consumption devices.
In concept I actually prefer 4:3 for a variety of reasons and lamented the big change in my TVs and computers, but I'm also realistic and practical as to the advantages of adhering to modern standards.
But to each their own, choices are a good thing.
