Version 2.71 demands Local Hard Drive for install
I use an SSD for Drive 'C' so all my programme installs are on E:\Tools\????
Currrently 2.69 installed OK, but 2.71 doesn't recognise the 'E' drive (a 2Tb internal HDD) as 'local'
PC is a generic Processor box with the SSD & 3 HD's in it

There are no changes to the installer between those two version, whatsoever.
https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...taller/windows (the last change was two months ago and to the portable installer)
Not to mention that the calibre installer is just a bundle of files. All the actual installation is done by the Microsoft installer service. So something in that or in your windows environment has changed. If you cannot figure out what that something is, you can always use the calibre portable installer, that does not depend on the windows installer service and will let you install anywhere.
