Various: Past Masters Forty One, v1, 27 Aug 2021
41st anthology of stray short stories published in magazines and newspapers and largely forgotten. Some were anthologised in print years ago, but those anthologies themselves are also forgotten. Some of these stories came from the weekly Detective Story Magazine in the period 1919-1922, held in Internet Archive. For some reason the Archive does not have contents as part of the metadata, so searching by author name and title doesn't bring anything up; I have had to search through each magazine for L+70 public domain stories.
1: Mr Clackworthy's Pipe Dream / Christopher B. Booth 2: The Rolling Stone / Guy Gilpatric 3: Shooting Gallery / Raoul Whitfield 4: Popeau Intervenes / Marie Belloc Lowndes 5: The Perfect Murder / Stacy Aumonier 6: The White Pillars Murder / G. K. Chesterton 7: The Manor House Mystery / J. S. Fletcher 8: The Murder on the Golf Links / M. McDonnell Bodkin 9: A Posteriori / Helen Simpson 10: Wolf Medicine / Hugh Pendexter 11: Mr. Clackworthy's Return / Christopher B. Booth 12: Tardy, but on Time / John J. Chichester 13: The Grim House / Richard Connell 14: Mistrusted Sight / Oliver Maddox Hueffer 15: Mrs. Huggins's Hun / Stacy Aumonier Cumulative Index Nos 31-41 This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. You're way ahead of me there. I thought I was brilliant just discovering the Index to the Fiction Magazines! You can rely on me to do things the hard way.
I shall add those links above to my favourites. Many thanks! |
