FREE (Amazon) 4 titles from Joffe Books

Joffee Books appears to be a very small press located in London. They currently have 4 books free this week; two mysteries and two romances.

Many of these are advertised as "gripping...novels full of suspense."

They need a more imaginative copy writer.

Thank you for the listing, but I'm going to go and grip my ebook reader and read something.

. . . .
True, true.

Unfortunately, if the publisher is "very small," as Fbone suspects, they can't afford to hire someone to do all of the necessary jobs. One or two people wear many different hats--graphic artist, IT guy (or gal), desktop publisher, advertising and other marketing person, public relations specialist, phone-answerer and all around secretary, accountant, "go-fer," janitor, maintenance person, and several other ones that I know that I've bound to have missed.

There is no one person who can do all of the above jobs well. Everyone has different levels of ability in each one. So you just do the best with what you've got. Sometimes the best isn't very good, as the copy writing that Fbone shared reveals.

If it sounds like I know those things from experience, it's because I do. Boy, do I know.

Not gripping enough. If they were "full of suspense and intrigue", that would get my attention.

But, it obviously did get your attention. And that of Mr. D's. And that of mine. ha

Maybe instead of it being poor copy writing, it is brilliance--write something so tired and worn out that people notice it and start talking about it! I think that the great P.T. Barnum said something about there being no bad publicity . . . .

Not mine, though.

I just click on the link. If it's free, I 'buy' it. Maybe it will get read, maybe not. Maybe my estate has to figure out what to do with 3000+ free Amazon books. Maybe I'll be able to donate them to charity for a fat tax write-off. Maybe Amazon will get hit with anti-monopoly and owe money to everyone who 'bought' a book from them.

Only two are *still* free, but since they had some reader reviews who actually liked them, I grabbed them. Worse case, I throw them out if I don't like them. Digital bits don't weigh very much!

(Sorry - yeah, the romance was free too. I just didn't want that one!)
