One more Collection sort order question, apologies

Sorry to be a pest, but I have yet to be able to chain up a Kobo tech in my basement. This is all I have, my sincere apologies.

I finally got the alphabetical sort order for the collections/shelves to work when it displays under "My Collections", but is there a way to correct it so it will show in alphabetical order when you touch the three lines on the side of a book title and hit "Add to collection"? Those are still showing up randomized, which, while not crucial as I only have 2 pages of shelves, but it's annoying.

I think you can touch "by Title", select another sort and then reselect it again to get it to sort by title again if it doesn't automatically do it each time. I'd wait until I had all the titles added to the shelf. No, I wouldn't, I'd use Calibre and set it up based on PeterT's sticky...

What firmware are you running? The three lines for the book menu where removed from the book lists for the Glo and later a while ago. Or are you using the Touch?

The Glo has a sort menu on the "Add to collection" list like the shelf list, but it probably suffers from the same bug. The Touch doesn't have the option. But, the sort order can be set in the config file in a similar manner to the shelf list. Add one of the following lines:

LastLibrarySorter_shelfList_filterByAddToShelf=sortByShelfName()
LastLibrarySorter_shelfList_filterByAddToShelf=sortByItemCount()
LastLibrarySorter_shelfList_filterByAddToShelf=sortByCreationDate()

You want the first one. The others are there for completeness.

I did the change for the config file, but it doesn't seem to affect it when I want to add a book to a collection by tapping the three lines on the right of the book title.

I'm running 3.3.1 on a brand new Glo, no previous accessible firmware available (as in I had to update it to the new one when I set it up).

I couldn't figure out how to get Calibre to shelves the books for me - it would set up the shelves, but the Glo didn't see them on the shelves, so I spent 2 hours shelving 401 ebooks.

I think somehow you've missed a step with Calibre. Once you have it set up with the shelves columns and put your metadata and series information in and then transfer the books to the reader, you must properly disconnect, let it process them on the reader, then plug back into Calibre and let it see the books on your device. It will then place them on the shelves or in the collections. At least that's the only way it works on mine. You also have to have the correct options checked in the driver for your device, if I remember correctly. It's worth the bother as once you get it worked out you'll never have to manually organize them on the reader again.
