That would be eight months, just about. At which point, I think it’s more logical to say that you get up later for four months.

What is the obvious reasons for CT?

I just heard about CT considering this, and the problem I heard was coordinating with other New England states.

I thought CT had decided to throw in its lot with NY, given the whole bedroom community aspect of the southwest part. But if not, all the better; it gives more heft to have the entire region as one. Good to know.

Meanwhile, the west coast of North America is rapidly moving to full time PDT. BC is set to introduce legislation this session, and the WA, OR, and CA have all said they intend to do so. Of course, in the case of the US states, they don't actually have the power to change without the US Congress approving. And getting anything through that body has become rather problematic.

The NY/Southwest influence may very well be true/makes sense, it was background noise when I was listening and may have missed something.

Plus, I consider myself more of a New Englander than a New Yorker, so I was put off by your comment.

Apologies, from a New Yorker living in New England. I admit I was reflecting my own bias; I grew up on the New Haven Line and Fairfield County seemed much of a muchness with Westchester.

The acid test is which baseball team’s got your loyalty! The New York Times has a very fun map which tracked baseball loyalty by zip code. The Yankees penetrated deeper into the Nutmeg State than I would have guessed.

(I could live in New England for a century, and I still wouldn’t be a Red Sox fan.)

Regarding DST, there was some sort of bill that passed one of the two chambers of the legislature here in IL that would have ended the switch.

If it had passed, I somehow doubt that the feds would sign off on it due to reasons that can. only be discussed in the politics and religion forum.
