Odd Sigil behavior = <span style="font-size: 0.9em;">???

I was comparing this to an Excel-like 'Paste Values' or a Word-like 'Paste Text' option

I searched the key mapping to see if there was an option so that I could assign Ctrl+Shift+v to paste everything everything except <.*>, </.*>, and {.*} (maybe, my RegEx is maybe a C+)

Have you ever copied some text from a web page or a document and then wanted to paste it as simple text into another application without getting all the formatting from the original source? PureText makes this simple by adding a new Windows hot-key (default is WINDOWS+V) that allows you to paste text to any application without formatting.

After running PureText.exe, you will see a "PT" icon appear near the clock on your task bar. You can click on this icon to remove formatting from the text that is currently on the clipboard. You can right-click on the icon to display a menu with more options.

The easiest way to use PureText is to simply use its hot-key to paste text instead of using the standard CTRL+V hot-key that is built into most Windows applications. To configure PureText, right-click on its tray icon and choose "Options" from the pop-up menu. The default hot-key is WINDOWS+V, but this can be changed. In this Options window, you can also configure PureText to run each time you log into Windows.

thanks for the link, but I believe that it will treat the tags as simple text when it pastes them in, and them Sigil / ADE etc. will 'process' them into headings, etc.

I'll have to try it when I get home

In that case there is also http://www.clipboardfusion.com/ which explicitly has the option to remove all HTML from the clipboard.

Text Scrubbing
With ClipboardFusion, you can scrub your clipboard text in a variety of ways. Sometimes you need to transfer content between applications, and don't want to take all the extra formatting along with it. ClipboardFusion can help you with that.

You can set ClipboardFusion to scrub all copied text, only double-copied text (press Ctrl + C twice) or you can scrub text manually with the HotKey or context menu.

There are a few different options relating to how your text is scrubbed:

• Formatting will be removed
• Whitespace at the beginning or end can be removed
• HTML tags can be removed

You also have the option to play a sound, or show a notification balloon when text has been scrubbed, just to let you know that ClipboardFusion is doing its job.
