Usually people talk about new updates weeks before they arrive. This one appears to be a surprise. Does anyone know what goodies if any come with this update? Or is this just a bug update?

There's an update for Fire (6.3.1). Adds Parental Controls. I assume that's what's referred to. Discussion is in the Kindle Fire forum.

You are in the Kindle forum. But you're not in the Kindle FIRE forum . This is the forum for talking about Kindle eInk devices, apps, etc, but not the Fire. That has its own separate subforum.
