I would be happy with the first option and just let Tom cast the deciding vote in a tie. But bring on the poll. Anyone else? |

It all sounds good, but it seems that with those options, the option "Keep the Run-Off the way it is" should only win if it gets more votes than all three of the others combined, since the other three are all variations of the same option.

Are there any rules about what books can be nominated besides the book fitting in to that month's category?

I can't think of any, but perhaps others could jump in and jog my memory. There are preferences, but no hard, fast rules I can think of. For example; if a member nominates a book that isn't available in an eBook format, or one that is only available to a few of the lucky members who live in particular regions, that book has a very slim chance of becoming fully nominated, and an even slimmer chance of winning that month's vote.

I might add that all members of MobileRead are welcome to participate in the nominations, voting, and discussions of both the MobileRead Book Club and the Literary Book Club. All you need to do to be a part of either club is show up.

I knew I was forgetting something!!
Tom, would you be willing to open/start the discussion threads earlier than the 20th of the month?
It would give people who read the selections at the beginning of the month a chance to voice their feelings before they start forgetting the details. It would also allow for discussion and/or questions while we're reading instead of at the end..and we would basically have the whole month, which may encourage more people to participate. I'm thinking maybe around the 7th or the 10th? |
