Can't connect Kobo Aura 2nd edition to Chromebook

Hi,

I've just bought a Kobo Aura 2nd edition reader, but can't connect it to my Asus C302A Chromebook. 😖

A year before, I had the old Aura, and that has no problem to showing up as a external drive. My mom has a Kindle, and that also connects to my Chromebook without any difficulty.

Does anyone knows if something has changed with Kobo devices?

Otherwise the reader works perfectly, but I can't sideload books. I tried the device with a Macbook, and it was working ok.

Thanks.

What type of USB port is on the device (and is it a C302A or C302CA)?

We've seen various issues on these forums that have been resolved by plugging a Kobo inyo a US|B 2 hub (powered in some cases\) that in turn plugs into a port on the device.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Both, the Chromebook and the Macbook have USB-C ports. I'm not at home at the moment so I'm not sure which Asus I have. But it's the Core M3 model with 4Gb RAM, US model...
Oh, and I forgot to tell that I also tried the reader with a Acer Chromebox, and it didn't connect to it. That machine had the normal USB port. That is why I thought maybe something has changed and Chrome OS just not working with the Kobo anymore. Which would be a shame, and loss of money.

I checked it, I have the Asus C302C, code name "Cave"
Intel(R) Core(TM) m3-6Y30 CPU @ 0.90GHz
59.0.3071.134 (Official Build) stable-channel cave

Unfortunately I don't have a USB hub to try, I only have a USB C to USB A converter (Blue one, USB3 standard)
