epub to mobi conversion problem.

i posted this on the kindle forum but was told that i might get more answers here.here is my problem.i converted some epub files to mobi. even though the original epub files have perfect orientation the resulting .mobi files are off centered. when i tried to view the file on calibre there is a huge gap on the right side that there is a scroll bar the can be moved to show you a large empty space. when viewed on my kindle the text is offcentered to the left by about 1.5 inches wasting about a quarter of my screen.

does anyone kno watsup?
