Free (Kindle) Perfect Little Angels [Ghostwriter Supernatural Suspense/Horror]

Perfect Little Angels by Andrew Neiderman (ISFDB, Wikipedia), whose works you may or may not know best as the ghostwriter behind the wildly popular V. C. Andrews (ISFDB, Wikipedia) brand name since the original author of Flowers in the Attic (Wikipedia, now a Lifetime made-for-TV movie remake! and a really bad one, too, of a not-made-for-TV-movie that was also bad in its own right!) died, is his own-brand standalone supernatural suspense/maybe-outright-horror thriller about a family that moves to the obligatory too-idyllic-seeming town which has strange and horrible things lurking beneath its apparent bucolic perfection, free courtesy of publisher Diversion Books, who are e-printing it from its original 1989 Berkley Books edition.

Amusingly, this has blurb praise from "V.C. Andrews" for Neiderman as a quote-unquote "master of psychological thrillers!", even though apparently her estate hired him for the ghostwriting job after her death. That certainly sets a hard-to-follow standard for author promotional sock-puppeting, though I suppose it's possible at some point before her decease she had read and praised his books in a conveniently cover-quotable fashion.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK). Normally these things are also free at iTunes, but unusually, they don't seem to have gotten any of Diversion's recent new-re-rerelease of the author's backlist (which these freebies are usually a promotion for) into their store listings yet, even though all the other usual stores seem to have them (couponable @ Kobo, should you enjoy this and happen to wish to read more, BTW).

Description
A picture perfect town holds a chilling secret.

Justine Freeman and her parents move to Elysian Fields to start anew, and the picturesque town seems the perfect place to do so. In fact, their new neighborhood seems too good to be true. Their neighbors are all polite and helpful, and the streets are eerily clean. Even the teenagers of Elysian Field are perfect. They don’t drink, they don’t smoke, and they are polite to their elders to a fault.

But Justine is a more typical teenager, and while the new girl in town hasn’t yet learned how to behave like the teenagers of Elysian Fields, she will. Because in Elysian Fields, there are so many ways—horribly effective ways—to turn disobedient children into Perfect Little Angels.

Now also free @ iTunes (available to Canadians and many other places worldwide, as Diversion freebies usually are), where this and the rest of the author's backlist catalogue has finally shown up.
