Replying to my own comment.
For my situation it appears that there is a step between 5 and 6 of the jailbreak instructions. That is to "eject" (safely remove or the like I guess, "eject" for me on linux mint) the kindle from your PC. I also think steps 7 and 8 should be reversed to make more sense. I had the "application error" but was able to follow the rest of the instructions. So I think I'm jailbroken...? Is there some way to know that all has worked? I expected there to be some notice under "device info" but I see nothing. |
