Marsh, Richard: Between the Dark and the Daylight. v1. 06 Jun 2021

An entertaining collection of twelve of Marsh’s cleverest stories.
A thieving ghost, a conflicted juror, a cross-dressing servant, an anti-everything crusader, a clerical plagiarist, a murderous woman scorned, a timid old maid wooed – what do any of these characters have in common?

[…] Certainly the question of identity looms large in these stories: identity lost, stolen, faked, confused, mistaken or brazenly maintained after death. Hypocrites, fraudsters and murderers are unmasked. Courage and genuine goodness are rewarded. And no one is quite exempt from the sting of Marsh’s satire.
