Publisher's Names
What are the names of the publisher's that are doing this agency pricing thing? This would include the 5 "major" ones and the other sub-publishers that they also own.

Hachette Simon and Schuster Penguin Putnam HarperCollins Macmillan You'd need to look at their individual websites to see their subsidiaries - there's too many to list, and even if there wasn't I can only name the SF&F imprints at each. (Orbit, Pocket, Ace/DAW, Eos, Tor/Forge ) |

Macmillan alone, to take but one example, own more than 350 subsidiaries, so the numbers really are enormous.

Okay, because I was looking at a book-if you go to the Sony store and look up C.E. Murphy's Urban Shaman it has it priced at $6.84, publisher Luna. But if you scroll down the same title is there again except it's $11.30 and published by Harlequin.

BooksOnBoard put together a list of the publishers & their imprints; incomplete, but might contain all imprints from which BoB carries ebooks.

Would it be easier to ask, which publishers are not following along with the new pricing?

Hundreds, maybe thousands, of smaller publishers, including many online ebook-only tiny publishers, are not using the new pricing. |

But I wonder why the same book is priced significantly different?

Whether all of those 350 entities under Macmillan are proper subsidiaries is another matter. Tor, for example, has the Tor and Forge imprints, but Forge is not a separate entity. ______ Dennis |
