delete book on device, not from main library

I have just bought a sony reader & am learning how to manage collections etc via calibre auto management.

it is not obvious, however whether I can use calibre interface to remove book(s) from device, without also removing them from PC library and I don't want to lose stuff via testing.

is there such an option ?

I would believe that it works the way it does with all devices- you just go into the device view and delete the book there.

Simply delete the title from your device, Cybmole. It will still be safely stored in your Calibre library (if that's where it is) and you can up uploaded to your reader again at any time. That's why Calibre is so darned excellent. You store and catalogue your books there without any need to overload your actual machine with them. Too many titles in the wee gizmo can sometimes cause some readers to perform more slowly. Good luck and best wishes. Neil
