I came across this site a few days ago.... https://bookbrainz.org/

I do contribute to MusicBrainz, and played with the idea of expanding into BookBrainz and contributing there also.

All the searches I performed made me realise how woefully lacking in data the site currently is. Many of the books and authors I searched for were not even listed.

Surprisingly I could not find a single thread about the site in this forum.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the site? Why is it not mentioned on this forum? Is anybody contributing to it?

I looked at it about a year ago. Considering the years it's been around, I found little to interest me on the site (I tried a dozen authors but very few hits and 7 of them didn't even have an author record).

I cannot see any reason for this site to exist. I did a quick search and it failed. It's less then useless.

I got a hit on my very first search and the information in the result was useful.

I had never heard of it. It looks to me like they have built a solid architecture and if enough contributions are made maybe it will become useful or even significant.
