Kindle 5.6.5 "Record And Play" dialog?

Would anyone happen to know the incantation to bring up this particular dialog and capability?

Does it require a particular USB device to enable?

What do you mean by "record and play"? E-Ink Kindles after the KT have no audio capablity, and no Kindle has had video capability*.

Probably leftover code from the early 5.x series firmware on the KT.
A possible attack vector in 5.6.5 and earlier firmwares.

Yes, seems to be vestigial code on the Home screen, along with the MP3 player and some Pronunciation capabilities.

It seems to be in the same resources list as 'Cancel Download' and 'Kindle Feedback', which doesn't make a lot of sense unfortunately.

Has someone explored this?

Those sound like left-overs from the old (very slow) models of keyboard devices.
Note: I don't have a K1 and I am fairly sure all of the Series 2 devices are running 2.5.8.

If so, it has been in there long enough that someone has explored them.

Note: All of our searchers for jail break vectors work independently and rarely report on failed ideas.
