Oh, come on! Surely you could find one in a garage sale or flea market. Wontcha please? Purty pulease!? I promise never to ask "What have you done with Spock's brain?!" ever again if you do.

Woken up an hour early by thunder. I don't seem to be allowed to have a bit of a lie in during the past week. Oh well, I can spend some time going over my Calibre library because I've been sloppy with new ebooks lately.
About pop-tarts: The local US/UK foodstore has them in their window and I've been fascinated by them but haven't yet gotten up enough courage to buy them to try them out. |

But man, once you make your own you'll never want to go back to that store-bought junk. The filling is fresh and the crust so flavorful. The only downside is that they're only shelf stable for about a week (though you can always freeze the uncooked pastries). Last edited by Dylrob; 05-01-2012 at 07:02 AM. |

Wishing I could detach my hands and put them in an autoclave.
Yesterday was Queen's Day and the music around the corner gets their power from us because we have a 380 volt connection. We run a cable from our basement, over the road to the stage. The day after it's my job to clean the cable. Normally it's sticky from all the people who have walked over it and the beer spilled on it. But this time there was a "piss pole" nearby. It should drain the urine to the sewer with a hose but somehow it still had some in it when it was removed last night and it sloshed all over the cable. My father had thrown away the gloves I wear when cleaning the cable and postponing it wasn't an option because the store was smelling of stale beer and stale urine. Ew. I've already washed my hands numerous times and changed my clothing but I can still smell the beer and urine. Bah. |

I'm 'working' on my thesis, too. Hey, it's labour day here in Europe, so feel free to take some time off!
What do you have to do for your assignment? My specialization, back in the day was in Italian; I did an M.A. in Italian, as well. My dissertation is more in the field of romance philology, but the focus is heavier on Italian than on other languages (I'm not going to bore you with the details of it). I'm glad to see someone learning Italian, it's such a lovely language with such rich literature. I hope that you are enjoying it! I've moved onto other languages, but Italian holds a special place in my heart. |

I'm no longer starving the dogs.
It's heartworm preventive time, and they finally ate their breakfast. I had to hide all the other food and not give them any treats all day before they finally gave in and ate the food with the medicine mixed in. Now I think I'll read this book to them. Am I nuts for buying a book to read to dogs? |
