Last read document
When examining the ctb source code for the R2 firmware, I saw that the last-read function is only enabled for the DR800. Maybe someone at iRex can answer if this has a technical reason (maybe related to the clock) or that it is a commercial reason?

Well, last read is the default option when you open "Books" on the home page on the DR1000 so one or another is mistake. I was wondering why that option had no effect when selected from the popup menu.

The Continue Reading is not persistent across (re)boots. Its functionality would be very limited on DR1000 so it is left out. The Last Read time should still be updated for the Sort by Recently Opened function, though. Thanks for bringing that omission to our attention.

I know, you and your collegues have other problems in mind at this time and this is possible the question you heard most until now, but can we expect a suspend to ram for the dr1000 with another firmware-release? Or is it impossible within the dr1000 because of hardware-design-reasons?

The sleep mode (suspend to ram) of DR800 draws too much power on DR1000 so it is not suitable for its hardware design. A hibernate mode (suspend to flash) it still possible but needs serious work on the kernel to implement.

Ok. It's not what i've dreamed about but if a sleep mode is not suitable - we have to accept it. So please - implement the hibernate mode as soon as possible. Starting at the place where you have been when shutting down the device would be 100% more comfort as now. Other idea - would it be possible to enable the sleep mode for 15/30/45 or 60 minutes and then shutting down/going to hibernate mode? Or enabling sleep mode when a power cord is connected? Like the shutdown-down-options which are implemented yet. All with the background "faster access to the last read document". Last edited by ThR; 07-07-2010 at 08:44 AM. |
