True to some extent but for me it has always been worse with the Paperwhite. Much more frequently and a broader variety of unintentional actions.

I also just prefer page turn buttons for ergonomic reasons.

I think my pw 4 had the function, I can't find it in my new base 2024. Would be useful cause sometimes i feel like it would be more Natural to grab the reader with some fingers on the screen too.

I haven't see an Amazon page that lists which ones in particular, but Amazon forums user comments say it's for sure the feature started on the Oasis 2 and was later made available on the PW4.

Now it may be that it's not a great idea to read in bed until you fall asleep but that would be a huge lifestyle change for me at this point.

I don't fall asleep while reading. I put my book or reader down when I get sleepy. Back when I read paper books and I didn't want to stop reading but was getting tired. I used to lay the book on my chest and close my eyes for a half hour or so... 😂....Sadly for those who want buttons the choices are getting slimmer. Kobo and nook probably won't do them eventually as well.

Why would you want the touch turned off on a PW4? How can you use it with no buttons?

You don't really turn off the touch screen. You just disable tap zones and use swipes to go back and forth.

I have used it on my Oasis 2, to be clear. I didn't know any PWs had it.
