So "B" is the single point we want.
Does your meter have "diode test"? Put it in that mode, black lead to any of the metal cans, red lead to "B". The display should show a number, not zero or "----", maybe 1000 or so. Then push the power button until you hear it reboot (~10 seconds). Surely you can do this? It only requires three hands. Or maybe an alligator clip for the ground. |

I just posted about this not working even after trying for hours and just after I posted and tried again it went right to 9008, which is EDL.
I don't know why but your EDL command I downloaded isn't working. Code:
Could not find EDL device And could you explain what must be done next to fix the device... Last edited by richard.black; 10-19-2024 at 02:48 AM. |

"EDL" is two separate protocols. The first is very fragile. You must always do a clean reset into 9008, then load a loader.
/l is a Sahara command. Everything else is a Firehose command. So, don't even try a Firehose command until it says that Firehose is ok. Code:
-- Test points and reset -- edl /lsdm662.bin edl /g |

I think that you didn't start fresh. Unless there is something going on here. Normally the test points should be 100% reliable and react a fraction of a second after the device actually resets. With a device that powers off you can dettach the USB, power off, test point activate, plug cable in.
I think that the WinUsb driver is installed, but you can double check. Reset the device with the EDL test points. Go to "devmgmt.msc" (Device Manager), find your device, right click, Properties > Driver. It should say something "blah-blah-WinUsb (libwdi autogenerated)". If not, you need to Zadig. |

Your device is UFS. All commands (except the first with /l) have a /u in them.
Code:
edl /u /g |

Um, I don't remember/forgot/never knew what the problem with this was.
The best way to deal with updates is to let it deal with the updates. If your device boots normally, put the upx in /sdcard and make it install it. If your device can do recovery you can try sideloading it. But I don't know what your status is and don't know what kind of update you have. |

Hey,
The problem was I flashed payload.bin at sector 0. The OS doesn't boot now. Sideloading doesn't work (gives me an error, status 1). You recommended using EDL to fix my device. Thanks Last edited by richard.black; 10-19-2024 at 08:39 AM. |

Well, it apparently fixed the main GPT on LUN 0.
OTOH you might have wrecked some stuff that is not in updates, like persist. So recovery itself works ok? And you did "Factory reset" there? Install 7zip. Try this: Code:
edl /u0 /r /ppersist x 7zip l x |
