So I measured. It's hard to get an accurate measurement when the magnets want to fight with the steel parts.
The 28 magnets (13 thick magnets from the body and 15 thin magnets from the cover) weigh 12 grams The internal plexiglass of the back cover weighs 23 grams. The "leather" cladding on the back cover was destroyed and disposed of, no idea what that weighed. Weight reduction > 35 grams, 1.25 ounces |

Thanks!
12 g is 7.5% reduction for a 160 g device! Your cover being attached to the device itself reminds me of Sony PRS-T3 with built-in cover Do you have photos of the back? How does it look like? |

It's not as neat as I would have liked, but...
The next time I'd do it a bit differently with the gluing as it's hard to get the alignment perfect. I'd put the unmodified cover down, mate the reader with the cover open. Using a fine point Sharpie (or maybe a pencil) draw a reference line on the inside of the cover snug against the reader. Then trim the back cover to 1/2" of the "thick part", You have to carefully extract 1/2" of the plexiglass inner either as a part of the whole cover or as a stub if you just sawed through the cover. Then you need to glue the delaminated part of the "leather" stub together. When dry and cleaned up then lay the cover down again, apply glue to the stub and align the reader on the stub by the line with the cover open. You can clean any excess glue off the hinge area with IPA while the glue is still not completely set. This is the Go6. I tapered the back stub and rounded the corners a bit. It's better than the Poke5 where I kept it square. |

Still looks cool and simple enough to do!
Does it stick to the back when you open it 180 deg? |

Yes, it sticks around backwards just as securely as the unmodified version as the four magnets on the front cover stick to either the front or the back of the internal four magnets. It's so strong I can sandwich some 3 mm (1/8") plywood between them. That's how my stand holder works in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...61&postcount=7
