RIP Fantasy Author Dave Farland
Dave Wolverton (who wrote fantasy as Dave Farland) died after a fall. He was just 62 years old. He was best known for the Runelords series --- and he also wrote "The Courtship of Princess Leia." He also published some books as Dave Wolverton. In addition, he was well-known as a writing instructor.
This was announced as part of a news scroll in File 770, and his son wrote about it on his Facebook page. There is also a tribute post on File 770. |

I had never heard of David Farland until just the other day; I finished reading a novel called True Sisters, about the disastrous Mormon handcart journey, and in looking for additional books about the Mormon pioneers, I came across his historical novel entitled In the Company of Angels. I was surprised to see he was most known as a science-fiction/fantasy author.

Does anyone know if someone will finish the Runelords series? Note I’m not trying to shame Farland, hopefully he’s found peace, just wondering if anyone who followed the series might know something.

From what I read, the first four Runelords books tell a story and have an end, then the series continues from there.
If you've read the series, is that accurate? |
