CC as main launcher for Ereader

Hi.

I've made a topic about using KOReader as Android launcher, but the other scenario is to use Calibre Companion this way. Can I do that? Can I use CC as main Android launcher for rooted ereader?

Thank You.

If you ask CC to open a book it will offer you the choice of which Android app to use, or it will automatically open it in the default app for the filetype, if you've set one up. Is this what you meant?

This is how it has always worked to date, but I think there may be some kind of change looming due to Google shenanigans with Android. I'd better let chaley elaborate on that one.

ETA: I don't think rooting matters to CC.

Thank You.

No, I'm talking about starting CC with system at boot (on lower level, than by using auto start program) instead of standard system launcher and launching it every time, I'm pressing Home button on my Nook.

I've found a solution: Target Home Launcher app. It's on Market and working on Android, starting with 1.5.

It's working on my Nook.
