Moving text with a non-breaking space [ ]

Hi,

I've noticed a strange behavior. If you select a text including a non-breaking space (wherein the code   is replaced by a "yellow space") with the mouse and move it to a different position, the non-breaking space is converted into a normal space.

The behavior does not occur when copy and paste is used or the passage contains the code   instead of the yellow space.

This is a limitation of Qt the graphics toolkit calibre uses. I've worked around it for the case of copy/paste but working around it for drag and drop is harder.

I don't know if this is related, but if you replace a normal space with a non-breaking space, text on the left(or right?) side of the editor is sometimes disappearing.

That is a different, known Qt bug. It is because of the highlighting.

Upstream hasn't gotten around to looking at it to fix it...
