Merry Xmas

Hi, I am George from Australia. This is my first post - like so many readers these days I bought Kindle, and therefore started using Calibre.
However I do not understand why anybody would want to organize the authors according to the other name instead of the surname...

I hope someone can help with this. I tried but couldn’t find the answer to my question:

Basically, I would prefer if the Calibre Library on my PC was created as it is (the default), but the authors surnames were always first, followed by a coma, and then the other part/s of the name/s:

Andersn, Poul
Christie, Agatha
Dumas, Alexandre
Fitzgerald, F. Scott
Modesitt, L. E.

(The subfolders can be as they are)

The same I would like to have displayed in the Calibre main window - the Title as it is, but the Author(s) names organized alphabetically according to the Surnames.

Can you please explain what I need to change, if possible...

Hi Bigo2, we just had a warm Christmas here in Camden mate! Looks like you have a lot on you mind with your first post. Welcome to the place that will answer all those questions. Have a look at the top of the page . . . choose forums . . . find Calibre and post that question again and you wont believe how fast you will get help mate! Merry Christmas and welcome to MR.

Good to have your company, George. In Calibre, simply hit 'meta data' in the tool bar and you can instantly re-arrange the author name so that surname comes first. Very best wishes. Neil
