Amazon Android on E-Ink Kindles
It is now possible.
Amazon let the cat out of the bad as it where.
The system installer of the E-Ink firmware version 5.9.2 can install an Android package now:

All finder's rewards to coplate please.

Note:
Firmware version(s) 6.x have always been (color) Android.
So maybe the major (system) firmware version field will change for the E-Ink devices also.

And my personal speculation that the first Android on E-Ink will be Android 8.x (whatever the 8th letter of the alphabet happens to be.)
I always wonder what Google is going to call the 28th version of Android.

One, we already have Android on E-ink - just not from Amazon.

I will beleive Amazon did it when someone installs an app.

Interesting news, certainly. Having had an Android-based Onyx T68, though, I can't say I'm a big fan of Android on eInk. Very poor battery life compared with a dedicated reader.
