With the new paper editions having been reissued fairly recently, you'd think that digital versions would have been negotiated and published at the same time. It's a shame.

This omnibus has no ISBN. There is no KGStudios. Also, I had a look at The Crystal Cave on Amazon and in the look inside, the copyright page shows the ISBN for the trade paperback version because that's the version used to scan/OCR. eBooks nol onger use the same ISBN as a paper version. eBooks have their own ISBN. Again, more proof these are not real.

The Smashwords omnibus has straight quote and -- for emdashes. And given the fact that there is no KGStudios is all the proof you need. The domain kgstudios.com is up for sale. If a publisher and/or distributor is able to have these books, then they would be easy to find and their domain would not be up for sale.

And yes, I did contact Smashwords back when this omnibus was first discovered. Nothing was ever done about it. If KGStudios is real and has the worldwide rights, then for sure Hodder & Stoughton would know this.

And finally (for now) why would these books be only put up at the two easiest places to game?

Wasn't this entire discussion about the highly-questionable version that was up on Smashwords, that made it thorugh to Amazon, way back before Amazon stopped taking SW distro? So, what, 2009 or so?

Seriously, Hachette? There must be some sort of weird legal maneuvering going on, that's not a lawsuit or something like that because otherwise, none of it makes sense. The Case of the Disappearing Nine Coaches Waiting, I mean. Why on earth would they appear and disappear? Once an ebook is made, it's made. Why wouldn't you milk it for all it's worth?
