Jetbook/Calibre question

I have been converting some books to EPUB and it works pretty well but I have a couple of concerns. The first is that the number of pages that is displayed at the top of the screen is not the actual number of "pages" in the EPUB. Sometimes I have to change the page 3 times before the page number actually turns. I would like to now exactly how far I am into the book but it's difficult to know that when one page does not equal one page.

Also I noticed that the text is sort of 1.5 spacing or something and I would like to see it closer to 1 line spacing. Any way to do that?

Adobe Digital editions the viewer used on most devices uses page numbers to simulate the paper reading experience. The page numbers stretching over multiple screens of text are a side effect of that.

Try using the remove paragraph spacing option in calibre to remove the line spacing.

So in other words, there's nothing I can do about that? It's not a huge dealbreaker-just a minor annoyance I guess. Thanks for the hint about the paragraph breaks. I'll try that next time.
