Convert on import except PDF

Is there a way to tell Calibre to convert everything on automatic import to my preferred format except PDFs?

Right now I have told it to import everything except PDFs and convert and then I have to manually import the PDFs.

No, but why do you care if the PDf gets converted? The original PDf is still available.

PDF conversions generally don't work well so I am trying to avoid cluttering up my libray with files I don't want.
