How not to auto-generate TOC in Calibre -setting?

I have 2 questions.
(1)st one is how not to auto generate TOC in my final output to Kindle DX.

I just compiled a bible translation into 1 html file. Inside I put the TOC in the beginning, followed by 66 books in order. (genesis to revelation)
They are all in one html.

Immediately following </head> tag, I created as below:

</head>

<body>
<td class="toclist"><a name="TOC"/><h1><a href="#start"> Kindle Version: xxx Translation of the Holy&nbsp;Scriptures</a></h1>

(the name of the translation here is irrelevant, so I am using xxx for now.)

Calibre generated its auto-generated TOC, so I basically ended up having 2 TOC. However, inside my kindle dx device, when I click Table Contents from the joystick menu, it jumps to the auto-generated TOC from calibre and not my original TOC. Interestingly, when I clicked go to the beginning it turns to my own TOC section. (This is because, the above <a href="#start"> is working, I think.)
So, it's just the matter of some option setting inside calibre.However, the option settings are very complicated. Can anyone instruct me which boxes to check or uncheck?
Appreciate the help very much.

(2)nd question is how can I jump to the particular chapter in this bible document. For example, when I want to go to John 3:16, I type "joh3" and it can jump to the 3rd chapter of John and then I click on "next page" to find the verse I am looking (in this case verse 16).
Incidentally, I have all the chapters tagged.(1189 chapters in total.)
For example, the tag at the beginning of John 3 looks like this.

<p class="title"><a name="joh3"></a>John 3:1-6</p>

<p><a name="bk1" class="vsAnchor">1</a>

The above "<a name="joh3">" is unique so as all the rest of total of 1189 chapters. If these appear in text, the kindle can search. I could make the chapter appears big as "Chapter 3", then adds "(joh3) to appear in print (on screen), which case it probably can jump. Are there smarter way of doing it?

Thank again for advance.
