There was a software program long ago for (I think) Macs that interfaced with the word processor - and would produce "clicky" sounds for key presses and a "ding" bell sound when the program would begin a new line.

I used to use the typewriter, and also the similarly designed teleprinter, and the mess we used to get into when the keys jammed or the ribbon needed changing - especially at 2 or 3 o'clock in a morning ....
