also
http://blog.bookeen.com/cybook-ocean...ris-book-fair/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVke0nXmltE 8" Onyx Boox is supposed to have 512 MB, that is 4 x Cybook's 128 MB, could pose a big difference for pdf handling, although a lot of it will be consumed by its 1600x1200 resolution i.e. about 2.5 x more pixels then Cybook's 1024x768. Developing a new e-reader wouldn't need to take 2-4 years, not even if it's a "weird" 8 inch model. If you want to be quick, then just design a nice case, get the guts of the thing into it (they're all commodity products now), and adapt Android for it. I think that, when starting from scratch, it could be done in under a year at most. I will offer you one for free. In 2038 Last edited by Katsunami; 04-04-2014 at 11:07 AM. |

Without Pocket or readability integration or some way to send articles from web for offline reading will stick to Kobo Aura HD. though 8 inch E-ink is quite tempting.

The resolution is a FAIL for me. It's really not acceptable for a 2014 device that is not going to be priced as a cheapie.

Yup, but not sure if "e-ink" screen that size with better resolution exists. Maybe the next version.
On the other hand, didn't hit my when seeing the odyssey (and not having read the specs before) |
