Raising price on the Jetbook Color?
Just got a promotional email, basically saying the following (after some cutting):

Buy now, save when buying from our new Las Vegas dealer;

You think they'd ramp up the price?

I paid £380 (including delivery) here in the UK which surprisingly is roughly the equivalent of $500 plus VAT (sales tax). Normally I'd expect to see $500 = £500.

I thought the British pound was like 2USD, or '1.something' EUR?

Anyway,I surely hope they would not increase the price, because that would work in my disadvantage. I'm waiting for the black version to become available.

Currently 1GBP=1.58USD which is why we get so annoyed that a gadget costing $400 in the States costs us £400. All to do with different import duties, sales tax, shipping, size of market etc I know, but it still rankles. That's why I was surprised when the jetBook had what seems a fair exchange price (coming from Idaho).

In Germany they offer it for 449 Euros, I even received an offer by mail for 399
Euros - shipping included.
I will wait for the new software to come out first ...

That is what I am doing to. For now what they have is not very convincing. The fact that the price is high is also sending me toward M92. I will have to buy a second 10" eInk anyway so that second one might be a color one if JBC does not disappoint on March 1st or April 1st

Talking about prices: the M92 might be worth a compromise for 250 Euros max (better 200) ...
