How to add books to title folder instead of author?

By default, Calibre adds all books to a newly created folder with the name of the book's author, inside your library folder.

Is there a way I can change this so that it will add all new books to a new folder with the title of the book, rather than the author?

In the GUI: Book Details section:
You can drag and drop additional formats OR a cover image

Duplicate formats will REPLACE.
There is no (metadata) verification. You can drop the WRONG book and it will be happy (you won't).

You can also do these tasks in the Metadata editor in the respective areas

If I'm understanding the OP question, you cannot change how Calibre names a newly-added book. You can save it elsewhere to have a copy (save to disk) and name it how you like, but this is not what Calibre will use to show what is in the library.

that does not sound quite right. A book is normally stored in a folder that is based on the title, and that folder is stored in a folder based on the author. That behaviour is not changeable.

If you are not seeing this then it suggests the metadata is wrong.

itimpi, I may be confused but aren't you both saying the same thing?

It's presently Library Folder -> Author -> Title -> individual files inside (formats, cover, metadata)

I think the OP wants Library Folder -> Title -> individual files inside (formats, cover, metadata)
