Troubleshooting Sideloaded books not removed

Hello guys,

I have a question on behalf of a friend. She has a not-jailbroken kindle where she has a some amazon-bought books and some other sideloaded books without DRM.
Now, Amazon books, and books sideloaded via USB (with calibre, for what matters), do delete just okay.
Long press on the cover --> delete, and the book is gone.

But for books sent from calibre via registered amazon e-mail, and also for books sent by telegram bot sendepubtokindle (which also uses amazon registered e-mail), ah, that's a different story.

She gets no error and she is able to read them on the kindle, but when she tries to delete them, with the same method above, books do not get removed from the kindle at all.
Or better: the books get removed, but on the kindle library she has a phantom cover: the standard kindle book-cover with the title of the book.
The book won't open, of course, but it can also not be removed.

Is there anything she can do?
She also has tried a reset of the device: all books get removed, but the "phantom covers" still stay. Any help?

Did she try going to www.amazon.com/myk using a computer and delete those "Docs" she wants removed?
Since Kindle will, if set to "All" instead of "Downloaded", display all archived books/docs even those not currently on the Kindle itself.
