Dead spots in the max 2
I have been experiencing momentary dead-spots in the Max 2, they can sometimes span up to 1/4 of the screen. This can go on for some hours, a day or more, but suddenly it is fine again. Therefore this seems to be a software issue rather than hardware issue. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, how do you deal with it?

Probably a hardware issue. Take some pictures to show at your vendor. A return to the vendor is probable.

By dead spots, do you mean bits of the screen which don't display anything, or bits of the screen which don't respond to touch and / or the stylus? I've had the latter issue a couple of times, and a reboot usually fixes it.

Thank you guys for the replies,
Upon reading my head message, I realize I should have written more details, my apologies. The blind-spots correspond to the device not responding to the stylus; It is not the issue of text not appearing on the screen. This sometimes goes away after a reboot but sometimes it does not. The irritating thing is that you never know when this will happen and can be quite annoying when deeply involved in some work, and not being able to calculate how to avoid the spots, since they are not always in the same location. So I was hoping for a fix-it-once kind of resolution, since if a malfunction such as this is a given for the device, I am shocked. Here is a video of the current situation, which is relatively small compared to other days: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y2oewe21gs...85707.mp4?dl=0 Last edited by ivarmarrow; 08-18-2018 at 07:17 AM. |

It's more clear. A similar problem was known with the first M90/M92 : a problem with the magnetic field due to the speaker.
A circular blind spot so large is not a software problem for me : contact your vendor. Last edited by Randy11; 08-21-2018 at 02:51 AM. Reason: Not 'bling' but 'blind' spot. |

Or, since the spot moves around, could it be that the device is being set down near a magnet?

Thank you for taking an interest in my problem fellow e-book nerds
![]() Just in case someone has a similar issue or is curious about the development of the problem: I contacted Onyx, they also asked me about the magnets, but I am very confident that no magnets or things containing magnets (speakers) have been around the device. Of course the device is near a computer, but it is advertised as a second monitor, so if this is the issue it would be very strange. They obviously recognized the problem as a hardware issue since they said I would have to send them the device to China. I am a student and have replaced all book and note-taking things with the device, and it would be inconvenient to say the least, having to wait the weeks this process would take, sending the device to china etc. So I sent them I should not be made to suffer for buying a broken device, and suggested they would send me a new one and I would sent the broken device on arrival of the new. This they could not do, but suggested we meet in the middle and I would buy a new device on amazon, and send the old one back, and they would repay me the new device and shipping. I find this to be a satisfying middle-ground, but it will have to wait until I have the money to buy the new device, until then the broken device will have to do. I do find it strange though that they are happy to allow me to keep on using a malfunctioned device, the device is very exotic and people find it very curious at the university, and are asking me about it. Showing them the device with a blind spot is not very good advertisement for them. |
