Just my two cents worth.
Yeah, I'm with you. My cousin has one of those "make it look like a book" cover and I never liked it when I tried it out. I went with the neoprene case as well just to make sure I don't scratch it, etc. when I'm traveling.

Unfortunately I bought the official Nook branded one and paid too much... should have done some research first...

I had one like this too. From Etsy. It looks beautiful. The problem is, the binding just started wearing out from usage. Especially folding it back. So I had to stop folding it back. It was still getting beat up. They need some with a bookjacket cover!

I ended up with a Nook M-edge my wife bought for her Kindle 2 on ebay (didn't fit) for my e-ink Nook. Fabric, bends back well, works great.

I have a Javoedge editor flip for my Nook color. I checked the sizing and it actually fits pretty decently. I would kind of like a cover that would stand up on my e-ink Nook, so if they go on sale, I may switch to another Javoedge.

Nook Color is the best option

Bought a Nook Color and I think they are pretty good for the money paid. I especially like the color LCD feature because I like to read my favorite magazines while I wait in line, wait at a doctor’s office, or anywhere else.

I did have a hard time finding a sleeve for it. However, found a small company that makes a pretty good sleeve for this unit and sells them for only $8.95 with free freight at www.nuvo-tek.com.

By the same token, if anyone knows of where I can buy a good cover (not a sleeve) that is not too expensive for the Nook Color, please let me know.

Thanks

I bought two things which I am very satisfied with:

* Silicone Skin meant to be used at all times, to protect from bumps and drops. Very well designed, includes:

- Perfect Fit
- Cutout for lower left corner leaving loop and card slot accessible.
- Holes for headphone jack and miniUSB jack and over speaker and entire screen
- Thinner area over power and volume buttons allow them to be easily pressed
- Thicker over areas likely to hit objects
- Attractive pebble finish on bottom which also makes it non-slip
- (One customer review complains about its smell, which is silicone smell and I suspect it will go away with time.)

I bought the "ishoppingdeals" brand on Amazon, but B&N has one, and I suspect that all are made in the same factory (how many Nook Color Silicone Skin factories could there be ?), but I have no way of knowing for sure.

* A thread somewhere claimed that "Belkin Kindle 2 Case" fits the Nook Color, and since the Kindle 2 is discontinued, I was able to get one for $5 shipped on ebay. It is neoprene, with extra padding over the screen, and fake leather over the screen on the outside, and a good quality zipper with two pulls. The Nook Color with the Silcone Skin fits nicely in this case. Amazon has third-party sellers and one is fulfilled by Amazon and that way both items I have mentioned can be part of the same "free shipping" order. Since the wave of 11,000 Nook Color sales, the price on these has gone up and it is now $7.23 shipped, but still a good deal.

FWIW, I give the Chesterton Quote cover about a year of heavy use until it starts falling apart. Which mine is starting to. I just bought a similar case, same soft fake leather but a different quote on the cover.

Do those sleeves fit the nook with cover?

I have an M-Edge cover. For me it's more like having a regular book and my nook is always protected without having to pull it in and out of something. Theres more ways to grip it than just the nook alone. My cover is not heavy at all. No heavier than a book. And my cover has a slot for a light for night reading.

My Chesterton one started getting worn out so I replaced it with one with much more rigid leather. The Jack Spade cases are really worth checking out while they are all 75% off.

I know but I love the buttery feel of the flimsy faux leather.

My wife and i just purchased 2 Oberon covers for our Nook classics and they are perhaps the most beautiful and functional covers we have ever owned for anything!

What do you carry your ereader in?

Hi folks,

I found this poll on Facebook and thought it would be interesting to have MobileRead's registered users' take on it. It's a poll about which is your preferred way of carrying your ereader:
